After my own experience I noticed the many gaps in materal health. You go to your appointments, and they check your weight, blood pressure, and urine and maybe ask a few quick questions. But no one is really looking at your nutrient status, your energy, your digestion, or how your body is preparing for pregnancy, coping with the demands of growing and raising a baby

My Testing Approach: Going Deeper Than Blood Work

One of the ways I do this is by using functional testing. While blood work can be helpful, it’s really just a snapshot in time. It tells us what’s floating in the bloodstream in that exact moment, but it doesn’t always show us long-term patterns or how well your body is storing and using nutrients.

That’s why I start most of my clients with:

HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis): This test reveals how your body is actually storing and utilizing minerals over time. It helps us understand energy production, adrenal function, thyroid health, blood sugar balance, stress response, and more.

GI + Digestive Assessment: I developed my own in depth digestive assessment that we use alongside HTMA. This helps uncover whether nutrient depletion is happening because of absorption or digestive issues. We look at symptoms like bloating, constipation, heartburn, food reactions, and stool patterns to understand the root cause of imbalances.

When we combine HTMA with a GI lens, we’re not just seeing what’s missing we’re uncovering why it’s missing. This gives us the full picture of how to restore balance, rebuild nutrients, and support you in a way that lasts.

From there, I may layer in additional functional tests (like hormone panels or advanced blood work) if needed, but HTMA + digestive analysis are the foundation.
